The Yamaha MT-09 Tracer comes under the brand’s sports tourer range. The bike is based on the MT-09 naked motorcycle, but has touring-friendly features and dynamics. The dual headlamps and tail lights are LED but the indicators are of bulb-type. The multifunctional instrumentation is fully digital with customisable display. The display model features knuckle guards and twin hard-case panniers as well.

Powering the Yamaha MT-09 Tracer is the same engine that does duty in the naked motorcycle. The 847 cc three-cylinder DOHC engine makes 115 PS at 10,000 rpm; and 87.5 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. The bike features multiple driving modes - STD (Standard); A mode (for sharper response); and B mode (for a relaxed demeanour). There’s a two-level switchable traction control and a dual channel ABS as standard as well.

The cycle parts include adjustable upside down front fork, and a rear adjustable monoshock. The motorcycle comes to a halt using discs on both ends, with the dual front units measuring 298 mm. The rear wheel gets a 245 mm disc. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with 120-section front and 180-section rear tubeless tyres. Yamaha has blessed the bike with a large 18-litre unit for easy mile-munching. The bike is only for display purposes. In the Japanese market, it costs 1,069,200 Yen, including taxes.
