Yamaha R15 special edition turns out to be an after-market modification.

The Yamaha R15 v2.0 unit spotted recently at an Indonesian dealership is an unofficial variant from Indonesian custom motorcycle company Elshop Modified.

The Yamaha R15 v2.0 with a coverlamp by Elshop Modified. The Indonesian customiser also sells undercowl, fuel tank, winglet, rear view mirrors and rear seat cowl .

The R25 inspired headlamp cowl by Elshop Modified can be fitted by anyone and the unit spotted may be a dealer level modification done on the request of a customer. The same side panel spotted in the original image also confirmed that the bike was the present generation unit and not the R15 v3.0 (codenamed BG7).

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 has been confirmed as receiving technological and safety upgrades. On the technological front the bike is expected to get a 155 cc VVA mill. Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) helps the engine be more flexible by producing torque on demand. The sharper throttle response also translates to uniform power delivery across low, mid and high rev range.

A VVA engine will also help Yamaha stick to a compact setup with a single overhead cam. In terms of safety the bike can be expected to gain ABS. The Yamaha R15 v 2.0 recently gained Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature in India which will improve the road presence of the motorcycle.

Inspired by the Yamaha R25, the R15 v2.0 coverlamp is also available in a variety of covers.

Elshop Modified also sells modified undercowl, fuel tank, winglet, rear view mirrors and rear seat cowl for the Yamaha R15 v2.0.
