Yamaha R15 v3.0 emerges as a sharper and more premium motorcycle.

Yamaha has showcased the Yamaha R15 v3.0 for the first time in Thailand, confirming the motorcycle for the market. The occasion was graced by Yamaha Racing’s MotoGP rider, Maverick Vinales.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 gets a premium touch with a more powerful engine, LED headlamp and upside down front forks.

The Yamaha R15 in its third generation avatar uses a 155.1 cc fuel injected mill which is coupled to a 6 speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 19.31 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. The compression ratio is also higher at 11.6:1 up from 10.4:1.

Yamaha has brought in VVA (Variable Valve Actuation). This will not just help in producing ideal amount of output across low, mid and high rev range but also assist in keeping fuel consumption under check.
