Yamaha R15 V3.0 - Rendering
Could feature a more powerful engine.
MotoBlast has made a speculative rendering of the Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0. The portrayed model is an amalgamation of the current R15 and the newly introduced Yamaha M-Slaz (the R15's naked version). The publication suggests that the R15 Version 3.0 could be named the Yamaha R-Slaz.
Unlike Yamaha's usual practise of developing a street fighter based on a fully faired sportsbike, like the Yamaha MT-25 based on the R25 and the Yamaha MT-03 derived from the R3, the Yamaha M-Slaz is believed to be based on the third generation R15 which is yet to be unveiled.
This is assumed from the fact that the M-Slaz, that was launched in Thailand last month, has the next level of hardware compared to the existing, YZF-R15 V2.0. This includes the inverted telescopic fork, the LED headlamp, the fully digital instrument console and the like.

Yamaha has carried the engine and the six-speed transmission over from the current R15, but did not reveal the power and torque output. The 149 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected engine with SOHC and 4 valves, produces 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm on the R15. It is unclear what type of changes will be seen on the R15 V3.0's powertrain.
