Standard Yamaha R15 V3.0 display modified to colour [Video]
The latest iteration of the YZF-R15 has boosted Yamaha sales since its launch in February 2018. The motorcycle registered a 165 per cent growth in year-on-year sales in September 2018. However one owner wasn’t happy with the way the instrument console looked and thus decided to give it a quick upgrade.

The upgrade was installed on a motorcycle in Indonesia. As seen in the video, the stock instrument console was dismantled to give the cockpit a makeover. A dark backdrop with yellow and orange colour for the several readings has replaced the white background with black readings from the stock display.
The upgrade may look simple in the video, but opening the complete system is a long and technical procedure which we don't recommend.
To recap about the R15 V3.0, the motorcycle was launched in India in February 2018 at the Auto Expo. The Indian spec model has received cost-cutting measures to keep the prices competitive. Unlike the international model, the India spec YZF-R15 V3.0 features conventional telescopic front forks instead of upside-down telescopic units. At the rear is a monoshock unit.
Mechanical specifications include a new 155 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that gets a first-in-segment variable valve actuation (VVA) technology. The VVA system is aimed to offer good mid- and top-end power without compromising on either. This engine is tuned to deliver 19.3 PS of maximum power @ 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm of peak torque @ 8,500 rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike also gets a slip and assist clutch.
A 282 mm hydraulic single disc at the front and 220 mm hydraulic single disc at the rear provide the stopping power. ABS is not available yet but a report from earlier this month suggests that Yamaha is currently testing the safety net equipped model.
