Report - Yamaha R25 gets assembled in 3 minutes

10/07/2014 - 10:49 ,   Nithyanandh K

The Yamaha R25 is quick on a track as evident from the previous videos and it turns out that it's quick on the assembly line as well! The quarter-litre bike, which seems to have what it takes to outpace its rivals in a head to head battle on a race track, is assembled in just three minutes, according to Mr. Eko Prabowo GM, Marketing Communications & Community Development, PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing.

The Yamaha R25 will be exported from Indonesia to several countries.

The R25 is being made at PT Yamaha Indonesia's Pulogadung plant in East Jakarta. This plant serves as the home for the motorcycle which would go on sale in several other nations including India and Japan. The exports for the R25 from Indonesia has been delayed due to unprecedented demand in the domestic market.

To recap, the Yamaha R25 is powered by a 250 cc parallel-twin liquid cooled fuel injected engine which produces 35.28 bhp (36 PS) and 22.6 Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox transfers the power via a chain drive.

While the motorcycle manages a top whack of 196 km/h on a dyno, it was seen doing 173 km/h on the road with the tacho needle not very far from the red line.
