At the ongoing 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Yamaha took the wraps off the Concept R25, and one quick look later, we couldn't wait to see what the production version would look like. So here is a rendering of the production R25 by Indonesian website Motoblast.

Motoblast have basically added headlights, turn indicators in the fairing, and have modified the shape of the exhaust to arrive at this rendering. Other design elements such as the muscular tank, the web-spoked alloy wheels and the shape of the seats remain untouched.

Yamaha says that the R25 will look like the YZR-M1 MotoGP bike, and that it would be a "superbike you can ride everyday". The Japanese company did not go into much detail, only saying that the R25 will be powered by a newly developed liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 250cc, in-line two-cylinder, fuel-injected engine mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.

Image of the concept Yamaha R25 added for comparison.

The R25 will make use of a "slim and compact" chassis, offering a "sporty ride in the high rpm range". In developed markets such as Japan and Europe, the R25 will be Yamaha's entry-level model in the sport-bike category, while in emerging markets across Asia, Yamaha will position it as a "top-performance" sport bike.
