Spied - Yamaha R25 shows its face in new spyshots
The Yamaha R25 was caught on test once again in Indonesia, this time by TMC Blog. The first image shows a portion of the front end of Yamaha's new 250 cc motorcycle and it looks very similar to the concept R25 shown at the Tokyo Motor Show and Auto Expo. Apart from the sporty fairing, we notice web-shaped alloy wheels and a sizable disc brake.
TMC also shows us a mockup of the R25's instrument cluster. According to the image, the tachometer will get an analogue layout, while the speedometer, clock, fuel gauge, trip meter and odometer form into a digital cluster.
Power for the R25 will come from a newly-developed, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 250cc, in-line two-cylinder, fuel-injected engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The power and torque outputs of this new engine remain a secret for now.
The R25 should measure in the whereabouts of 2,000 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1,140 mm in height. It will be offered as a high-performance sports bike in developing Asian countries like India, while in Europe and Japan the R25 will be an entry-level model.
