Yamaha YZF R3 is a sport bike manufactured in Indonesia. This entry-level sports bike was once on sale in India. However, due to the implementation of the more stringent emission norm, the Yamaha R3 was officially discontinued. It is not clear if Yamaha will launch any new vehicle to replace the R3. Before Yamaha decide if it is going to replace the discontinued Yamaha R3 with any new model, let’s review the old Yamaha YZF R3.

Yamaha YZF R3 Design
The look of the Yamaha R3 was inspired by the bigger R6. The R3 shares similar edges and creases with its sibling, creating a muscular design. While it is smaller in size, the bike manages to keep the design proportionate. There are sharp twin headlamps and a positioning lamp in between.
Yamaha YZF R3 Engines
Yamaha R3 is powered by a 321cc parallel-twin engine that is mated to a six-speed transmission. This engine is good for churning out a top power of 41 BHP and 27 Nm. The transmission duty is handled by a six-speed unit.
In terms of safety, the Yamaha YZF R3 is equipped with a 298 mm disc brake at the front and a 220 mm disc brake for the rear wheel. In addition, the Yamaha R3 also comes with ABS and Metzeler tyres for better effective braking and ride quality and performance.
