100,000th Tata Nexon rolls out in less than 2 years

The Tata Nexon was originally launched back in September 2017, and since then it has had quite a successful innings in the Indian market. Recently, Tata rolled out the 1,00,000th Nexon from its Ranjangaon plant. The company has achieved this feat in less than 22 months after the first unit was sold in September 2017.

The Nexon is one of the products from Tata Motors which has helped the company in the improvement of its PV market share. It averages at close to 4,000 unit sales per month. To keep the excitement going on, Tata has introduced several limited editions of the Nexon in the past and just last month, it silently introduced several upgrades.

The Nexon's mid variants such as XM, XMA and XT received an aesthetically improved non-touchscreen infotainment display and a longer antenna. These variants, along with the XZ variant, now come with a new glossy warm grey dashboard mid-panel replaces the older silver panel. Also, the XZ variant gets fresh glossy piano black finish on the gear knob, centre console, and the AC control panel and knobs too.

Furthermore, new roof rails and rear AC vents were introduced in the XT, XZ, XZ+, and XZA+ variants. While the top-of-the-line XZ+ and XZA+ variants now feature an additional 12V rear power outlet.

In terms of mechanicals, the Tata Nexon comes with the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine which delivers 110 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque and the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine which makes 110 PS and 260 Nm of peak torque. Both engines can be had either with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automated manual transmission.

The Tata Nexon currently retails at INR 6.58-11.00 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
