2014 Renault Megane Facelift revealed ahead of its Frankfurt debut

Renault has just revealed the 2014 Renault Megane facelift online. It will be world premiered at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show commencing on September 10th. The updated styling is rolled across all four variant lines of the Megane - the hatchback, the coupe, the estate and the performance oriented R.S version.

Facelift extends to all variant lines of the Megane.

The major change is the new front bumper, which sports the distinctive Renault family identity, seen first on the new Clio last year. The new elliptical headlights ensures that the Megane's looks are aligned with the rest of the range. Inside, the updated Meganes feature Renault's new R-Link multimedia system.

Powertrain wise, the Megane range would feature a new engine which happens to be a 128bhp 1.2-liter TCe (130) engine. This engine would be mated to Renault's EDC dual-clutch gearbox. It is to be noted that this particular engine could also be featured on the Dacia Duster facelift, which is also set to debut in Frankfurt.

Elliptical headlights and a new front bumper are the major differences.

Current Megane added for reference.

The updated Meganes would first sell in Europe, starting in the first quarter of 2014. The refresh would be rolled out across other markets through the course of next year.

Apart from this updated Megane, the Renault brand would be presenting 6 concept cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show, all designed under the leadership of Laurens van den Acker.
