Updated 2016 Hero Hunk begins testing - Report

Will receive mild improvements to the outputs.

Hero MotoCorp is reportedly developing a facelift for the Hero Hunk. The bike has been caught testing for the first time by Gaadiwaadi.

The cosmetic changes are expected to be concentrated around the headlight and instrument cluster.

A camouflaged test mule was spotted but was instantly recognizable thanks to the extended license plate holder. The styling has not seen dramatic changes with the fuel tank and taillight remaining the same. Changes are expected on the headlights, instrument cluster and decals (that seem to have a golden hue). The shock absorbers are now black and a rear disc brake was spotted too.

Minor cosmetic changes are seen on the exterior but the major change has taken place at the mechanical front. According to Gaadiwaadi, the 2016 Hero Hunk will be getting the same engine as the Xtreme Sports; which is a 149cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder engine belting out 15.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 13.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, a mild improvement over the current outputs of 14.2 bhp and 12.8 Nm. The chassis remains the tubular, diamond type and transmission will be the 5-speed constant mesh.

The motorcycle could get an improvement in power and torque of 1.4 bhp and 0.7 Nm.

Judging by the level of camouflage, the bike looks nearly production ready, and could reach showrooms either late this year or early next year.
