2016 Hero Splendor Pro (facelift) reaches dealerships - Report

The Splendor+ may continue with its traditional design, the first version of which was launched in 1994.

The 2016 Hero Splendor Pro has been snapped at a dealership before its reported launch this festive season, by Gaadiwaadi. It can be seen that the 2016 model is given new looks, as an upgrade from the two-decade old design shared with the Splendor+.

The existing Splendor Pro is a mildly restyled version of Splendor+ with side stand indicator, and options of self-start and black alloy wheels.

The 2016 Splendor Pro receives a new less-squarish headlamp and cowl that are reminiscent of the Splendor iSmart's. Its new tail lamp, in a trapezoidal shape, also bears similarity with the latter's. The fuel tank seems bulky, and gets leg patches. The rest of the side-profile elements are tweaked to complement the new fuel tank. The simple steel tube grab rail is replaced with a flat-type unit (seen in Hero HF Deluxe) that also contributes to the overall styling. The instrument cluster is brand new, with a three-pod structure whose bezels are covered in chrome.

The powertrain is not expected to be revised in the 2016 Splendor Pro. It would continue with the 97.2 cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine with OHC, that produces 8.36 PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 5,000 rpm, mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
