2016 Honda Civic to debut on September 16 - Report

Packs a 1.5-liter turbo VTEC engine.

Honda will debut the tenth generation 2016 Honda Civic in Detroit and Los Angeles simultaneously on September 16, 2015. It could also be showcased to the public at the 2015 Los Angeles Motor Show in November.

The exterior of the 2016 Honda Civic was previewed by the Honda Civic Concept unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show. It will feature Honda's Flying H front end with a bold chrome grille, sleek LED headlamps (optional), and a sporty set of bumpers. Other features include a redesigned C-pillar, subtle turn indicators on the front wheel arches and LED boomerang taillights.

It is powered by an all new 1.5-liter Turbo VTEC engine. Although Honda haven't revealed the power figures just yet, the same engine powering the JDM-spec Honda Jade RS produces 150 PS and 203 Nm of torque. It is paired to a CVT unit with 7-stepped ratios.

As for the Indian market, Honda Cars India has no plans of introducing the 2016 Honda Civic in the country, thus leaving a gap between the popular Honda City and the upcoming 2016 Honda Accord.
