The USA will get the Civic in sedan, coupe and hatchback bodystyles.

HondasAcuras has posted spyshots of the interior of the 2016 Honda Civic, which is expected to be revealed towards the end of this year in the United States.

The 2016 Civic will be powered by a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine, likely to be paired to a CVT.

The interior shows the 2016 Civic with a standard dashboard design (ditching the split layout of its predecessor), an automatic transmission (likely to be a CVT), ECON driving mode, HondaWatch Blindspot camera, an electric parking brake, leather seats, cruise control and heated rear seats.

Earlier this month, Honda confirmed in a statement that the new Civic will be underpinned by an all-new platform and that a downsized turbocharged engine will be at the helm of driving the front wheels. The engine in question is expected to be the 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo unit, which on the Japan-spec Jade RS develops 150 PS and 203 Nm of torque.

The 2016 Civic for the European market would also get a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine.

According to reports, the 2016 Civic will get a front fascia inspired by Acura models, and will feature full LED headlights as seen on the 2016 Accord (facelift) which was announced this week. For the American market, the 2016 Civic will be sold in sedan, coupe and hatchback bodystyles, with the hotter Type R model also on the anvil.
