2016 Honda Civic snapped in St. George, Utah - Spied
Will reportedly launch by the end of 2015 in North America.
The 2016 Honda Civic was spotted testing in St George, Utah, by IAB reader Dylan Westover. Like the previous spyshots, the exterior of the test mule is wrapped completely in camouflage to hide the final design, although it has already been revealed in leaked patent sketches.
Drawing design cues from the Honda Civic Concept presented in New York in April, the next generation Honda Civic will feature a a new “Flying H” grille design flanked by optional LED headlamps and a sportier lower fascia design. The rear-end comes with boomerang-shaped tail-lamps and re-profiled rear bumper.
Inside, the 2016 Honda Civic will feature a conventional dashboard design with an optional Honda Link touchscreen infotainment display in the center console, and a large storage space underneath the HVAC controls.
The 2016 Honda Civic will be powered by an all-new 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo four-cylinder engine. Although figures haven't been revealed, it could be similar to the Japan-only Honda Jade RS, which packs the same engine producing 150 PS at 5,500 rpm and 203 Nm of torque between 1,600-5,000 rpm. It comes paired to a CVT gearbox with 7-stepped ratios.
Other engine options include a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter i-VTEC unit, and a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine for the European market.

Currently, Honda Cars India has no plans of re-introducing the Honda Civic in the country, given the lack of demand for a premium mid-size sedan over 12 lakhs, leave alone the lack of a Civic diesel variant.
