A design revolution over its predecessor.

Based on spyshots, Indian Autos Blog's in-house artist, Shoeb Kalania, has rendered the front fascia of the next generation 2016 Renault Megane, which will have its premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.

The new Megane will be based on the CMF architecture, sharing platforms with the Nissan Pulsar.

As can be seen, the forthcoming Megane looks nothing like its predecessor, and instead opts for an all-new grille inspired by the Renault Kadjar. The squarish headlights get L-shaped LED daytime running lights, while the headlights themselves could benefit from high-end LED units.

Underpinned on the new CMF platform (CMF-CD used by the Nissan Pulsar), the all-new Megane will sport a "very sexy, very sensual" design, according to Laurens Van Den Acker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Design, Renault.

Inside, the new generation Megane will reportedly feature a large 9-inch touchscreen Renault R-Link entertainment system, thereby eliminating plenty of buttons on the dashboard, for a clean and uncluttered look. The overall quality of materials is also expected to increase a notch, given formidable competition from the seventh generation Golf.

Power for the new Megane is expected to come from a 1.2-liter TCe turbocharged engine, and 1.5- and 1.6-liter dCi diesel engines. A RenaultSport variant with a 2.0-liter unit could also be on the cards later in the lifecycle.
