2016 Renault Talisman - 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show Live

Replaces the Renault Laguna and Renault Latitude/Safrane.

Along with the 2016 Renault Megane, Renault has unveiled the all new Renault Talisman sedan and estate at the 2015 IAA that replaces the Renault Laguna and Latitude sedans. The flagship Renault Talisman is all set to take the fight to German D-Segment luxury sedans.

The Renault Talisman measures 4.85 m long, 1.87 m wide, 1.46 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.81 m. It is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s Common Module Family platform, which also underpins the Renault Espace MPV and the 2016 Renault Megane.

Exterior wise, the Renault Talisman features C-Shaped LED DRLs with new LED headlamps that flow into a V-shaped grille, chrome elements on the lower intakes, foglamps and long LED rear lights. As is the current trend, the roof smoothly slopes towards the rear for a bigger greenhouse. The rear end also gets a dynamic bumper design housing large exhaust tips.

Under the hood, the Renault Talisman comes with two petrol and three diesel four cylinder engines; a 148bhp and 197bhp TCe turbo petrol, paired exclusively to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic, while there’s a 109bhp, 128bhp and 158bhp dCI diesels coupled to a six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automatic. The lowest-powered diesel variant boasts of a low 95g/km CO2 emission figure.

The Renault Talisman is the first sedan in its segment to offer 4-wheel steering, dubbed as the 4Control system. It also comes with adaptive dampers for variable ride quality.
