2017 Hero Splendor Plus gains BSIV compliance

The Hero Splendor Plus was introduced in 2007 bring alloy wheels to the brand.

The 2017 Hero Splendor Plus is the modern day rendition of the original ‘fill it, shut it, forget it’ bike. One of the most iconic motorcycles of the country, the Splendor Plus now gets Auto Headlamp On (AHO).

The 2017 Hero Splendor Plus is now BSIV compliant and also gains Auto Headlamp On (AHO).

The powertrain is the same 97.2 cc single cylinder mill coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. In its BSIII state the motorcycle is capable of producing 8.36 PS maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The carburetted engine claims to have a maximum speed of 87 km/h.

Suspension setup of the Hero Splendor Plus includes right side down telescopic forks up front and dual shocks in the rear with no adjustability. Brakes include a 130 mm drum unit in the front and a 110 mm unit in the rear. Tyres include 18-inch wheels of 2.75 specification at both ends.

Colour options of the Hero Splendor Plus includes Candy Red, High Granite Blue, Cloud Silver, Palace Maroon, Black with Silver, Black with Purple Silver, Black with Purple, Black with Purple Red and Excellent Blue.

The Hero Splendor Plus has a claimed top speed of 87 km/h.

The BSIII Hero Splendor Plus was priced between INR 47,280 and INR 49,530 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi) and the BSIV version to be expensive by a few hundred bucks.
