PT Honda Prospect Motor has unveiled the all-new 2017 Honda Civic Type R (FK8) at the ongoing 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. Bookings for the new hot hatch are currently open across all Honda dealerships. Prices start from 995 million IDR.
The Civic Type R is one of the most powerful and fastest FWD hatchbacks in the world. It was capable of lapping the Nordschleife in a record time 7 minutes and 43.8 seconds. The grunt comes from a 2.0L VTEC TURBO four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 310 PS at 6,500 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. (400 Nm) of torque from 2,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm. The only transmission option is a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-100 km/h takes 5.7 seconds, and the car tops out at 272 km/h.
The 2017 Honda Civic Type R is 16 kg lighter than the old model and 7 kg lighter the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback. It measures 4,557 mm in length, 2,087 mm (including mirrors) and 1,434 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. It has an upgraded suspension with four-wheel Adaptive Damper System.
