Ahead of the official launch next month, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has listed the India-spec 2019 Honda Civic online. Reportedly, dealerships have already commenced the pre-bookings.

While the eighth-gen Honda Civic was discontinued in India in 2013, the carmaker skipped the ninth-gen model and will finally introduce the updated version of the tenth generation sedan that was revealed in August 2018.

The 2019 Honda Civic is 4,656 mm long, 1,799 mm wide, and 1,433 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. In comparison, the eighth-gen model measured 4,545 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width, and 1,450 mm in height. That said, both the versions have the same wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

The 2019 Honda Civic will be sold with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre oil-burner. The former produces a maximum power of 141 PS and a peak torque of 174 Nm, which is a marginal increment over the 132 PS/172 Nm output of the predecessor. The motor comes mated to a CVT. The diesel option, on the other hand, will be available exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. It outputs 120 PS and 300 Nm. While the gasoline option has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 16.5 km/l, the diesel-sipping counterpart will offer 26.8 km/l in the same test cycle.

In India, the 2019 Honda Civic will be available in a range of five colour options, viz.  Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red, Modern Steel, Lunar Silver and Golden Brown. The top-spec ZX trim will be available with a handful of premium features, including a multi-angle rearview camera, Honda Lane-Watch, remote engine start, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and Vehicle Stability Assist.

The latest iteration of the company's global best-seller has received a 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP tests.
