30% of the Renault Kwid sales come from the automatic variant - Report
Kwid 1.0L MT and AMT now account for 60 percent of sales.
Car and Bike reports that 60 percent of the Renault Kwid's monthly sales constitutes of the Kwid 1.0L, of which the AMT model accounts for half that number. Since its introduction in the market, the Kwid has garnered over 150,000 orders.
The fact that 30 percent of the Kwid's complete sales accounts for the AMT variant is proof enough that there is demand for cars with automatic transmissions in the entry-level segments. The 1.0L MT is now priced between INR 3.54 Lakhs - INR 4.02 Lakhs, while the 1.0L AMT costs between INR 3.84 Lakhs to INR 4.32 Lakhs (all ex-showroom Delhi).
The Kwid 1.0 models are powered by a 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 68 PS at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. As stated, it can be had with a 5-speed manual or Easy R 5-speed automated manual transmission. The ARAI-rated fuel economy figure is 24.04 km/l.
