Dacia Duster facelift revealed ahead of its Frankfurt debut
The Dacia Duster facelift has been unveiled online on the eve of its global premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new Duster gets partitioned headlamp and new chrome finished grille with interesting detailing. The refreshed front fascia gives the car a "go-anywhere" appeal according to the Romanian automaker.
The profile of the compact SUV is the same except for a new alloy wheel pattern. At the rear, the facelifted car can be identified by a new 4WD sticker and reworked combination lights whose shape is retained. In short, the exterior changes are subtle but Dacia succeeds in giving its best seller a makeover without disturbing its USP.
Over to the cabin, the instrument and centre consoles are redesigned. The trim is improved and colors have been revisited. The seats come with new fabrics and the facelift also sees the addition of the Dacia MEDIA NAV, cruise control, rear parking sensor and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard fitments in the Euro 5 variants.
The Duster also gets a new engine in the form of a 1.2 litre TCe petrol mill. The turbocharged motor develops 125PS and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 6 litre/100 km (16.66kpl). There are no changes however to the existing 1.6 litre petrol and the 1.5 litre dCi diesel motor.
The Renault version of the Duster which is being sold in countries like India and Brazil would also need of a facelift in 2014. We can safely assume that only time stands between us and the Renault Duster refresh.
