Hero Destini 125 national retail sales commence

Hero MotoCorp has commenced the nationwide retail of the Hero Destini 125 scooter. The company launched the Destini 125 in India on 22 October, priced at INR 54,650 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base LX variant.

The Hero Destini 125 features Hero's patented i3S technology. It is available in four colour options.

The top-end VX variant of the Hero Destini 125 costs INR 57,500 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the scooter rivals the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125 and the Aprilia SR125. It is available in four colour schemes - Chestnut Bronze, Noble Red, Pearl Silver White and Panther Black.

Speaking on occasion, Mr Sanjay Bhan, Head of Sales, Customer Care and Parts Business - Hero MotoCorp, said:

We are set to delight our customers by commencing the national retail sales of the Destini 125. We are confident that the Destini 125 will be a strong enabler for us in growing our presence in this category. We strategically launched the scooter during the festive period in the Delhi-NCR market, and the initial response has been very positive.

The Hero Destini 125 is the first and only 125cc scooter in India to feature the idle start-stop-system (i3S). Following are the ex-showroom prices in specific markets -

The Destini 125 debuted at the Auto Expo 2018 as the Hero Duet 125, alongside the Hero Maestro Edge 125. It employs a 124.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, Energy Boost engine that produces a maximum power of 8.70 bhp at 6,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The scooter has a top speed of 85 km/h and a claimed fuel economy of 51.58 km/l.

The Hero Destini 125 will primarily rival the Suzuki Access 125, and is part of the company's plan to have 6 scooters by end of next year.

The scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 5.5 litres, while the kerb weight stands at 111.5 kg. The scooter comes shod with telescopic forks up front, and a spring-loaded hydraulic rear damper performs suspension duties. The Destini 125 rides on 10-inch cast wheels that wrap on 90/100 section tyres.
