Hero HF Deluxe Eco goes missing from the official website

Hero MotoCorp has removed the HF Deluxe Eco from its official website, thus hinting the removal of the model from its product portfolio.

The HF Deluxe Eco did not receive the safety net of CBS tech – a feature that is mandatory on all two-wheelers under the 125 cc displacement now. The standard HF Deluxe, on the other hand, has already received the safety net and its prices start from INR 39,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The HF Deluxe Eco shared its styling with the standard HF Deluxe motorcycle, although the former came with a Green/White paint scheme. The ECO branding was placed on the side panel of the motorcycle. The HF Deluxe Eco was claimed to return 88 km/l from its 97.2 cc air-cooled, OHC engine that was tuned to produce 7.8 PS of peak power and 8.05 Nm of max torque. The motor was linked to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox.

The fuel economy was aided by several factors that were engineered into the motorcycle. At the launch in 2014, the HF Deluxe Eco was said to pack "stylized airfoils" and aerodynamically enhanced wing mirrors for lower air resistance. The tyres had low rolling resistance for better fuel economy.

In terms of hardware, the HF Deluxe Eco packed the most budget-friendly specs for being affordable. Anchoring department comprised drum brakes. The budget motorcycle missed the company’s Idle Stop-Start System. Both the features are available on the standard Hero HF Deluxe. Its shock absorption department comprised conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided springs at the back.

Hero MotoCorp may re-introduce the HF Deluxe Eco edition with the CBS tech and a BS-VI engine in the future, although there is no official information available right now. Regular followers of the industry would know that Hero MotoCorp has already received BS-VI certification for the Splendor iSmart. The BS-VI compliant model will pack an ECU, fuel-injection system, and O2 sensor among other hardware to comply with the more stringent emission norms that would come into effect from April next year. The same motor will also power other 100 cc products in the company’s portfolio.
