Hero HX250R - Auto Expo 2016

Co-developed with the now-defunct Erik Buell Racing (EBR).

The Hero HX250R has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016, following its public reveal at the Auto Expo 2014. When launched, the HX250R will compete with the Honda CBR250R, KTM RC200, and the like.

The HX250R is powered by a 249 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9 seconds.

The salient features include a twin 35W / 35W halogen head lamp, LED tail light, standard fork, five-step adjustable monoshock, 300 mm disc brake at the front with a three-piston caliper, 220 mm rear disc brake, Combi-Braking System as standard, optional ABS, 110/80-R17 tyre upfront and 140/70-R17 tyre at the rear.

The HX250R, based on all-new lightweight Geodesic tubular frame, measures 2,085 mm in length, 735 mm in width, 1,145 mm in height, 1,370 mm in wheelbase, 145 mm in ground clearance, is 139 kg in kerb weight, and has a 12.9 litre in fuel tank capacity. The model was developed with significant involvement of Hero MotoCorp's technology partners including Erik Buell Racing, AVL and Engines Engineering.

Hero Motocorp has not released any further update on the launch of the HX250R.
