Hero MotoCorp has also updated its scooter portfolio – Destini 125, Duet, Maestro Edge and Pleasure – with the IBS tech. The Xtreme 200R gets single-channel ABS as standard. The motorcycles that are yet to receive Integrated Braking System include HF Dawn, HF Deluxe Eco, Passion Pro Disc, Passion X Pro Disc, Splendor Pro, Splendor iSmart Plus and Glamour carburettor.
The IBS tech links the front and rear brakes to distribute the stopping power equally between the wheels. The system helps to bring the vehicle to a halt safely while reducing the chances of skidding on the loose surface like gravel or mud.
Upcoming products from Hero MotoCorp, which include XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T and the Maestro Edge 125 scooter, would come with the safety net of ABS (Xpulse) and CBS (Maestro Edge 125). Dealerships are expecting to receive the XPulse 200 by March 2019. India's most popular two-wheeler brand is expected to introduce the all-new Karizma and production-spec version of the XF3R in 2020.
