Hero Motocorp unveils five new models for India [Image Gallery added]

Hero Motocorp has just unveiled five models for the Indian market, including a turbo-diesel concept bike and India's first series hybrid scooter. They are the 150 cc Hero Xtreme Sports, 110 cc Hero Dash, 250 cc sports bike Hero HX250R, electric scooter Hero Leap and Hero RNT concept.

Hero Dash

The Hero Dash is a standard 110 cc scooter. The Hero Dash is powered by a 111 cc engine that makes 8.5 bhp and has a torque output of 9.4 Nm. The Dash tips the scales at 110 kg, gets a 6 liter fuel tank and has a ground clearance of 155 mm. It gets 12" front wheels coupled with telescopic hydraulic suspension, external fuel lid, mobile charging socket and a seat storage light. It will compete head on against the likes of the Honda Activa, TVS Wego and TVS Jupiter.

The Hero Dash is a 110 cc scooter that will compete against the Honda Activa.

Hero Xtreme Sports

The Hero Xtreme Sports is powered by a single-cylinder 150 cc engine that produces 15.2 bhp with maximum torque pegged at 12.8 Nm, mated to a five-speed gearbox. It gets a new headlamp with LED position lights and telescopic hydraulic suspension at the front and an adjustable gas reservoir swing arm suspension at the rear.

The Hero Xtreme Sports is a 150 cc offering.

Hero HX250R

The Hero HX250R gets a 249 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Hero has not mentioned the HX250R's power output. The HX250R gets telescopic hydraulic suspension up front and a monoshock setup at the rear. The HX250R weighs just 139 kg.

The HX250R is Hero's first 250 cc sportsbike.

Hero Leap

The Hero Leap made its debut at the Auto Expo 2012. The Leap is powered by lithium-ion batteries and an electric-traction motor with an onboard generator powered by an all-new 124 cc engine that produces 11 bhp. The Hero Leap has a top-speed of 100 kph when run with the range extender.

The Hero Leap is India's first series hybrid scooter.

Hero RNT Concept

The Hero RNT is a diesel concept bike that features a "high torque" 150 cc diesel engine that develops 13.5 bhp and has a peak torque of 35 Nm, and an optional turbocharger. The RNT gets an option of being attached with an oversize generator, offered as an accessory, to make it a hybrid. Another option is a hub electric motor in the front wheel powered by an electric battery pack, to give the rider a unique two-wheel drive option.

The Hero RNT is India's first diesel concept bike.
