Hero Passion iSmart caught again, could debut at 2016 Auto Expo - Spied

Could be powered by the new 111 cc engine.

The model that is expected to be named the Hero Passion iSmart has been snapped again, by Gaadiwaadi. It is expected to premiere at 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida in February.

The test mule gets black alloy wheels, and drum brakes. It is unclear if a (front) disc brake variant will be offered.

The prototype is identified to be an iSmart-equipped motorcycle by the blue switch on the right switchgear console which is the iSmart on/off control. It is carried over from the Hero Splendor iSmart. The i3S technology (idle Stop-Start System) on the iSmart models is developed by Hero MotoCorp which turns the engine off when the bike is stationary, in neural and the clutch lever is left free for a while, in situations like when the rider stops at a red signal. When the light turns green, engaging the clutch cranks the engine and the bike is good to go.

On the Splendor iSmart the technology is integrated into the already existing engine. On the upcoming, Passion iSmart, it is likely that the company will use the self-developed 111 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that has been debuted on the Hero Duet and the Hero Maestro Edge. The motor produces 8.43 PS and 8.30 Nm on the said scooters.

The Hero Passion iSmart is expected to claim a mileage of over 90 km/l.
