Hero XPulse 200 showcased in Bahamas
The Hero XPulse 200 was on display in the Bahamas last week. What was Hero MotoCrop’s adventure-tourer doing in the Bahamas? The motorcycle was on display at the Hero World Challenge golf tournament. The four-day 72-hole stroke play event took place from November 29 to December 2. Last month, Hero MotoCorp announced that Tiger Woods would continue to be the company’s Global Corporate Partner for at least another four years.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last two years, you would know that the XPulse 200 is Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming adventure tourer. The motorcycle will arrive in two variants – road-biased XPulse 200T and off-road spec XPulse 200. The road-biased version uses 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends that are wrapped in MRF tyres and a conventionally mounted exhaust. The XPulse 200, on the other hand, uses wire-spoke wrapped in CEAT tyres and a tall positioned exhaust. The off-road spec model benefits from a larger front wheel (21-inch) that will help it tackle the obstacles that it may face on the beaten path as well.
The motorcycles were spotted in India last month and are expected to be launched in the country by March 2019. Hero MotoCorp has made its intentions clear about competing in the 200-300 cc segment. The two-wheeler brand aims to extend its product portfolio in this segment here this fiscal. The cavalry to compete in the segment mentioned above includes four motorcycles.
The Hero XPulse 200 employs a 200cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power of 18 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 17 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Anchoring tasks are performed by disc brakes at both the ends, while the safety is enhanced with a single-channel ABS. Conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear handle the shock-absorbing tasks.
Feature list includes LED headlamp, a 14-litre fuel tank, flat single-seat setup, slightly raised tail section, and LED taillights. The all-digital instrument cluster will feature Bluetooth Smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and an under-seat USB charger.

The Hero XPulse 200 is expected to be priced competitively, and it will most likely arrive with a sub-INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom) tag.
