First images of the Tata Tigor from the media presentation trickle in
Will go on sale on 29 March 2017.
The Tata Tigor is confirmed to go on sale in India on 29 March. Well ahead of the Tata Tigor's market launch, the company has started with media presentation and here are the first images of the car. IAB will get to drive the new sub-4 metre sedan tomorrow, a review of which will follow soon.
The Tata Tigor is the production version of the Tata KITE 5 concept introduced at Auto Expo 2016. The company has ensured that it doesn't end up seen as a mere boot-fitted version of the Tata Tiago, by giving it a fastback roofline. In Tata Motor's terminology, the Tigor is a 'Styleback'. It doesn't have a big rear hatch one would find in an actual fastback sedan, like the recently unveiled VW Arteon, though, and settles for a conventional sedan-like boot.
Based on the Tata Tiago's XO platform, the Tata Tigor measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. It will arrive in the market with two engine options: 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine. Both engine models will have a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.
