India-bound Renault Captur showcased at 2016 Bogota Auto Show

Renault showcased the India-bound Renault Captur (Renault Kaptur) at the 2016 Bogota Auto Show held this month. Made for developing markets, the Renault Captur was a surprise model at the show and will be launched in the country next year.

The Renault Captur will be available in two trim levels - Zen and Intens.

The Renault Captur will be available in two trim levels in Colombia - Zen and Intens. LED daytime running lights, electrically foldable door mirrors, 17-inch aluminium wheels, 7-inch Media Nav 2.0 infotainment system with in-built GPS navigation, cruise control, ABS and four airbags are standard. The Intens trim level benefits from features like two-tone exterior colour, 17-inch diamond-finish aluminium wheels, automatic climate control, automatic lights, rain sensor, fog lights with cornering function, leather upholstery and reversing camera.

The Renault Captur measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width (excluding door mirrors) and 1,619 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm. Under the bonnet, there's a standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 143 hp at 5,750 rpm and 20.2 kg-m (198.09 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. A four-wheel drive system isn't available.

The Colombian-spec Renault Captur is powered by a 143 hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

The Renault Captur will reportedly launch in India in late-2017. Renault India has imported it for testing, but it remains to be seen whether it will be branded 'Kaptur' like in Russia or 'Captur' like in Colombia and other American markets.
