India-made Renault Kwid has a two-month waiting period in South Africa

The India-made Renault Kwid was launched in South Africa in November and it's seeing a big success in the African market right from the launch. According to a report from Engineering News, the company has sold 1,200 units of the Renault Kwid in the market.
On the Renault Kwid's successful launch in South Africa, Brian Smith, Marketing and Communications Vice President, Renault South Africa, told the news channel that "there are a couple of months' waiting list for the Kwid at the moment." "We have underestimated demand," he added.
The Renault Kwid measures 3,679 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width and 1,478 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,422 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. It's powered by the Euro 6-compliant 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 50 kW (67.02 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard.

The Renault Kwid is available in two trim levels in SA: Expression and Dynamique. Front fog lamps, metallic grey door mirrors, metallic grey wheel covers, dual-tone dashboard, piano black centre console with chrome surround, chrome surround on HVAC knobs and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation are the key features of the car.
The Kwid Expression is priced at R 1,24,900 (INR 6,39,094), while the Kwid Dynamique retails at R 1,34,900 (INR 6,90,262).
