Mahindra Imperio is the premium offering from Mahindra in the pick-up truck market. The Imperio puts a strong focus on the ride quality, comfort and convenience, which give it an edge over the Bolero Pik-up. With the Imperio, Mahindra targets to cater to the lifestyle customers.
Mahindra Imperio was launched in 2016 as a replacement for the Mahindra Genio in the commercial vehicle segment. With the Mahindra Imperio, Mahindra doesn’t expect to get a high sales volume but to cater to a smaller group of customers who wants a more comfortable and high-quality lifestyle pick-up truck.

Mahindra Imperio is offered in two trims, standard and VX. Each trim will come into two options, single cabin and double cabin. Prices of the Mahindra Imperio range from Rs 7.32 lakh (Standard Single Cabin) to Rs 8.24 lakh (VX Double Cabin).
Mahindra Imperio Engine and Specifications
The premium pick-up truck by Mahindra is powered by a 2,489cc 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes a top power of 75 BHP and maximum torque of 220 Nm. This engine was previously updated to meet the BSVI emission norms. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition, the transmission setting gets a single dry plate clutch. Moreover, the Imperio also comes with two driving modes, Power and Eco. While the former provides powerful performance, the latter promises to keep the fuel consumption low. Mahindra Imperio is claimed to return an ARAI mileage of 13.55 kmpl.
The suspension set-up of the Mahindra Imperio includes a leaf spring for the rear and an independent setting for the front. The braking system features a disc and a drum brake for the front and rear, respectively.
Mahindra Imperio is based on the same platform that underpins Mahindra Quanto and Xylo. It is 5,280 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,943 mm high. The wheelbase measures 3,220 mm. The ground clearance is 211 mm. This premium pick-up truck weighs 2990 kg. It runs on a set of 225/75 R16 tyres.
