Hero Destini 125 - Walkaround Video
Hero MotoCorp launched the Destini 125 scooter in India at ex-showroom prices of INR 54,650 for the Lx variant and INR 57,500 for the Vx variant. The Destini 125, which made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo as the Duet 125, reached Hero dealerships in Delhi-NCR on October 23. Other markets across the country will receive the scooter in the coming weeks.

The Destini 125 uses Hero MotoCorp’s 124.6 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, Energy Boost engine that delivers 8.70 bhp of maximum power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The top speed is rated at 85 km/h. The engine benefits from the company’s proprietary i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology that is aimed to deliver better fuel efficiency. The claimed fuel economy stands at 51.58 kmpl.
Stopping power is provided by 130 mm drum brakes on both the ends while the safety is enhanced by Integrated Braking System (Hero’s combi braking system) that come as standard. A disc brake is currently not available on the Destini 125. Telescopic forks at the front and spring-loaded hydraulic damper at the back perform suspension duties. The 10-inch wheels are wrapped in 90/100 section tyres.
The Destini 125 is pitched as a premium family scooter while Hero MotoCorp will appeal to the younger audience with the Maestro Edge 125 that should arrive by early 2019.
Premium content on the Destini 125 includes dual-tone mirrors, semi-digital instrument cluster with service due indicator, remote key opening, tubeless tires and external fuel filler cap. Mobile charging port and boot light come as standard equipment on the Vx variant. The premium variant also gets chrome chest, side chrome garnishes, cast wheels and dual tone-seat covers.
The Hero Destini has a fuel tank capacity of 5.5 litres. With a full tank, the scooter tips the weighing scale at 111.5 kg. It measures 1809 mm in length, 1154 mm in height and 729 mm in width. The wheelbase stands 1245 mm long while the ground clearance is 155 mm tall. The scooter is available in four colour options - Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.
