Renault is reported to be working on a a 7-seat crossover that will sit atop the recently announced Kadjar crossover. A launch date for the said 7-seater hasn't been announced yet as "it's too early to say just yet" Jerome Stoll, Exective VP and Chief Performance Officer at Renault told Auto Express.

The new 7-seater crossover will sit atop the recently announced Renault Kadjar (pictured above) in the lineup.

The flagship SUV is likely to share its underpinnings with the Nissan X-Trail, which is based on the CMF (Common Module Family) platform jointly developed by Renault and Nissan. On the design front, it won't be wrong to expect a Captur/Kadjar-like design. As for its crossover capabilities, given that Nissan offers a four wheel drive system on the X-Trail, it's very likely that the Renault branded product will get it too.

Currently under consideration, the crossover could be based on the CMF architecture, like the X-Trail.
