Renault Captur to be priced 'much higher' than the Renault Duster - Report
Renault India announced this week that it would launch the Renault Captur (Renault Kaptur) this year. Now, a report from livemint has confirmed that as expected, the Captur will slot above the Duster in price positioning.
The information regarding the premium pricing was confirmed to the business publication by Sumit Sawhney, MD & CEO, Renault India. He said:
ArrayMr. Sawhney didn't divulge further details, but it is expected that the prices could start at around INR 10 lakh. The Duster on the other hand, is much cheaper, with prices starting at INR 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The India-bound Renault Captur, originally introduced as the Renault Kaptur last year in Russia, borrows its design from the European Renault Captur based on the Renault Clio's B platform. It rides on the low-cost Logan/B0 platform of the Duster, though. Renault-Nissan Alliance has highly localised this platform in India. The Duster will likely lend its 106 PS 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 110 PS 1.5-litre dCi diesel engines to the urban crossover.
Renault will offer the Indian-spec Renault Captur with features like projector headlights, C-shaped LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, tail lamps with LED light guides, automatic folding ORVMs, dual-tone exterior and interior scheme, automatic climate control, Media Nav 3.0 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, cruise control and four airbags. Additionally, the company will introduce plenty of customization options.

The five-seater compact SUV (Renault Captur) with ‘crossover DNA’ will be a very premium offering and much higher than the Duster.
