Shares platform with the new Nissan Qashqai.

Renault is working on a compact SUV based on the same platform as the Nissan Qashqai (modular CMF architecture), one that will be positioned above the Captur but below the Koleos. And it's planned to make a debut next year, as reported earlier. French website Largus has released a rendering of the vehicle which is likely to be called 'Djeyo'. Previously, IAB's in-house artist Shoeb Kalania had rendered the C-segment SUV.

The compact SUV by Renault is likely to be offered with two diesel engine options: a 1.5-litre dCI and a 1.6-litre dCI.

Design wise, the rendering appears to draw inspiration from the smaller Captur, but looks larger. The front end sports the current Renault family look, while the tapered glasshouse (like on the Captur) adds character to the design.

In terms of dimensions, it's expected to be around 4.4 meters in length (the Renault Captur measures 4.2 meters while the Koleos is 4.5 meters in length). The Djeyo (if Renault calls it that) will be available in both 4x2 and 4x4 guises, and will be powered by Renault's almost ubiquitous 1.5-litre dCI diesel engine, while a more powerful 1.6-litre version is to be made available as well.

The rendering draws a lot of inspiration from the smaller Renault Captur (pictured here).

The report further says that Renault-Nissan Alliance chief Carlos Ghosn will unveil the car on February 2, next year at a ceremony in Paris, while a launch in spring is what the brand will be looking at. The vehicle was spotted earlier in Germany, video of which can be found here.
