As we've written before, Renault is yet to get an original car in the sub-10 lakh segments where over 80% of the cars are bought in India. The Pulse a Micra behind a mask, even though the effort is valiant by the Indian designers to give it a different personality. The sheet metal panels and side profiles match and this has earned the Pulse not a lot of applause.
Renault can't give themselves a personality if they go on rebadging Nissan products. They have to work out a way to build a completely different body on top of the Nissan carriages.
Coming back to the mules, Shehzad managed to peep into the Duster's interior and noticed beige interiors. The Duster is being spied by at least one IAB reader every 3-4 days.
Renault India will launch the Duster before Diwali. 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engine are planned for India, a source tells us. Renault India will manufacture the Dacia version and export it to the UK.
