The Duster facelift was launched alongside the new Kwid.

Renault, with Advanced Automobiles, a subsidiary of the Vishal Group, launched the Renault Kwid in Nepal earlier this week. Needless to say, the car is sourced from the Renault-Nissan Alliance's plant in Oragadam near Chennai in India, which is the sole producer of the car currently.

The Renault Kwid has been priced from NPR 1.68 million, which converts to INR 10,49,529.66, and is on display along with the Renault Duster facelift at the 2016 NADA Auto Show which opened this Tuesday. The Renault Kwid is available in Nepal with the 0.8-litre SCe engine, not the 1.0-litre SCe engine that was recently introduced for India this month.

The 799 cc naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine produces 54 PS (53.24 hp) at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4,386 rpm. It's mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, which sends drive to the front wheels. The ARAI-rated fuel economy rating for the Renault Kwid 0.8 is 25.17 km/l.

The recently introduced 1.0-litre SCe petrol engine in the Renault Kwid in India isn't available in the Nepal.

As Renault continues with introducing the Renault Kwid in more international markets, it's set to expand its small car line-up in South America soon. The company will showcase the low-cost A-segment hatchback at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November and launch it in Brazil H1 2017.
