Renault Kwid production to increase to 10k units/month by March - Report

The company now has a market share of 4.5%.

Renault India CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney has confirmed that the production of the Renault Kwid will increase to 10,000 units per month by March, so as to reduce the waiting period to 3 months.

The increase in production is expected to reduce the waiting period to 3 months.

He said:

Right now we are making about 6,000 units (per month). We want to increase it to 8,000 units (per month) and by March we will be crossing 10,000 units.

The Renault Kwid has been a runaway success for the French manufacturer since it was launched in September 2015. The company has received about 1,00,000 bookings for the A-Segment crossover, and has helped Renault increase their market share to 4.5%, which is a commendable feat for a company that targeted 5% by end of 2017.

With the unveil of the facelifted Renault Duster with AMT, Renault Kwid 1.0L and Renault Kwid 1.0L AMT, as well as increasing the dealership count to 240 from the existing 205 by end of 2016, thus covering 96 per cent of the market, the company hopes to lure more customers towards the brand, and achieve 5% market share by H2 2016.
