Renault Kwid sales surpass 1,30,000 units in India
The Kwid is Renault's most successful car in India.
Renault India has announced that it has sold more than 1,30,000 units of the Renault Kwid in India. Thanks to the Kwid's phenomenal success in the country, the company saw its market share grow to 4.5% in 2016.
The Renault Kwid was launched in 2015 in six variants, and currently, the range has been extended to ten configurations. The company's smallest model is available in four trim levels: STD, RXE, RXL and RXT. C-shaped signature headlamps, wheel arch cladding, integrated roof spoiler, two-tone gloss grey door mirrors, dual-tone dashboard, digital instrument cluster, MediaNAV touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, two-speaker sound system and driver airbag are the key features of the Kwid.
The Renault Kwid is available with two engine options: 0.8 SCe and 1.0 SCe. The 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol engine produces 54 PS at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, while the 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine develops 68 PS at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. The 0.8-litre SCe unit is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, and so is the 1.0-litre SCe unit, but the latter is available with an automated manual transmission optionally.

The Renault Kwid was launched with prices starting at INR 2.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and going up to INR 3.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Now, the car starts at INR 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and goes up to INR 4.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
