Renault Kwid with 'floating roof' impression spied in Argentina
Hints at design changes over the India-spec Renault Kwid.
A camouflaged Renault Kwid has been spotted testing in Argentina, ahead of its launch in several South American markets later this year. The camouflaged portions hint at design changes over the India-spec Renault Kwid.
Renault Brazil had confirmed that the Kwid for South America was co-developed by Renault Technology Americas (RTA) and Renault Design Latin America (RDLA). The Kwid featured in the spyshot features a different side moulding and a black plastic accent across the c-pillar, which gives a floating roof impression. Given that the bumpers have been covered up, expect slight design tweaks in tow.
The Renault Kwid will be locally assembled in Brazil with parts imported from its production hub in India. It's likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre SCe three cylinder flex-fuel engine capable of running on petrol and ethanol, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An Easy-R automated manual transmission could be offered in the higher grades.

To meet the strict Latin NCAP regulations, the Brazil-spec Kwid will get four airbags and ABS as well as a slightly modified body structure.
