Spyshots of a Renault Kwid featuring chrome accents, alloy rims, and roof rails, have surfaced online, courtesy of Team-BHP reader Jai_Shankarr. This could be the first revealing images of a possible "Stepway" variant.

Compared to the model unveiled in May 2015, the pre-production Renault Kwid in the spyshot sports a 2-slat grille with chrome inserts, chrome fog lamp enclosures, chrome door handles, chrome taillight surrounds, larger alloy rims, and roof rails.

Measuring 3.68 meters long and 1.58 meters wide, the Renault Kwid is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-A architecture, and packs an all new three-cylinder 0.8-liter petrol engine that, reportedly, outputs 57 bhp. The launch edition will have a 5-speed manual transmission, while an AMT option as well as a 1-liter engine with higher performance is expected within 6-8 months from launch.

The Renault Kwid featured above also sports chrome taillight surrounds, larger alloy rims, and roof rails.

The Renault Kwid is confirmed to be priced between INR 3-4 lakhs, and will compete against entry-level hatchbacks like Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon. It banks on its segment-best fuel efficiency, a 7-inch touch screen, high ground clearance and the bold crossover styling to attract customers.
