Renault Kwid waiting period extends upto 6 months - IAB Report

The Renault Kwid which was launched on September 24, received over 25,000 bookings by the first week of October. The waiting period for new orders is estimated to be upto six months in tier II cities and two-three months in tier I cities. The first deliveries commenced this month.
Priced from INR 2.56 lakhs (introductory, ex-showroom Delhi), the Renault Kwid competes with the Maruti Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon A-segment hatchbacks.
The Renault Kwid is being sold through 175 touch points in the country, which will be increased to 210 by the end of this calendar year. It is announced that, of the 25,000 bookings the hatchback received around the time of its launch, about 35 percent were from tier II and tier III cities including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nagpur, Rajkot and Nashik, indicating a strong reception in the emerging towns.
About 40 percent of the 25,000 bookings were buyers whose age was below 28, and around 15 percent of the total orders were female customers.
