Top-end Renault Lodgy RxZ variant deleted from Indian lineup

Renault India has also removed a few creature comforts.

Renault India has discontinued the top-end Renault Lodgy RxZ as well as deleted a few creature comforts from the equipment list.

The RxL-based Lodgy World Edition is now the range-topper of the Indian lineup.

This leaves the RxL-based Lodgy World Edition as the range-topper, which is priced at INR 9.74 Lakhs and INR 10.40 Lakhs for the 85 PS and 110 PS variants, respectively (Ex-showroom Delhi). It is also the only variant to offer the more powerful 110 PS variant of the 1.5L turbodiesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while rest of the grades pack the 85 PS variant of the same engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Some of the creature comforts removed include rear wash/wipe and defogger, passenger airbag, steering mounted audio and phone controls, MEDIANAV touchscreen infotainment system with GPS, reverse sensor/camera, driver armrest and cruise control. An ABS system with EBD continues to be standard across the range.

The Lodgy has not been able to meet Renault's sales expectations in the MPV segment, selling under 500 units per month in the last three consecutive months. The only volume players in this market segment are Maruti and Toyota, while Honda has not produced a single Mobilio this year, and GM India have scrapped the Chevrolet Spin.
