Over a year after the Captur, Renault will launch an all-new model in the Indian market this July - Triber. The company has set an annual sales target of more than 60,000 units initially.

The Renault Triber is a low-cost MPV underpinned by the CMF-A platform of the Renault Kwid.

Renault is betting high on the Triber and hoping to repeat the success story of the Kwid with its launch in July 2019. Renault India boss Venkatram Mamillapalle has shared an expected sales figure of over 60,000 units in its full year of production (2020). The MPV will be initially launched with a more powerful (+7 hp) version of the Kwid's 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. Options for a turbocharged version of the same engine and a 5-speed AMT will follow by mid-2020.

The Renault Triber will come wih features like LED DRLs, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, steering-mounted audio controls, dual-tone interior theme and more. On the safety front, ABS, driver airbag, front SBR and such other basic features will be standard, while rear parking camera will likely be included in the range-topping configuration.

The Renault Triber is expected to be positioned much higher than the Datsun GO+.
