Renault Triber production starts, to be launched on 28 August

Renault has started the series production of the Triber in India. The company will launch the new MPV in the country on the 28th of this month. It will start taking pre-bookings for a deposit of INR 11,000 on the 17th.

The Renault Triber in an SUV-inspired sub-4 metre MPV based on the CMF-A+ platform, a derivative of the Renault Kwid's CMF-A platform. It measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,739 mm in width and 1,637 mm in height. It has a 2,636 mm wheelbase and a 182 mm ground clearance. There's 84 litres of luggage space behind the third-row seats. It can be increased to 320 litres by folding down one of the third-row seats, and further to 625 litres by folding down the other third-row seats.

The Renault Triber will be available with features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, roof bars, 15-inch alloy wheels, two-part eagle beak-shaped tail lamps, skid plates, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, pillar-mounted second-row air vents, ceiling-mounted third-row air vents, passive keyless entry, engine start/stop button, LED instrument cluster and four airbags.

The Renault Triber uses an enhanced version of the Renault Kwid's 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine. This version is equipped with a dual VVT system and it produces 72 PS at 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. Customers will be able to pair this engine with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

The Renault Triber's only direct rival will be the Datsun GO+, which is priced from INR 3,86,588 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Renault Triber's only direct rival will be the Datsun GO+, which retails at INR 3,86,588 (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. It is expected to be costlier and its prices could start at around INR 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
