Renault Triber (Renault RBC) spied on test yet again
The Renault Triber has been spied getting tested on the public roads yet again. The latest pictures of the upcoming MPV have been shared by Team-BHP forum member Mukund.
The Renault Triber is a low-cost MPV developed especially for developing markets. Special attention has been paid to the needs of the Indian market, and the length has been restricted to 4 metres for tax reasons accordingly. In a size that European markets would get a 5-seat MPV focused more on luggage space, this one focuses on maximum passenger capacity instead and has seats for seven people. The only such model available in our market today is the Datsun GO+. As in the arch-rival, the third-row of seats are expected to be suitable only for children.
The fact that the Renault Triber a sub-4 metre MPV is clearly visible from its dimensions. Also, its stubby overhangs clearly depict that the company has tried to make use of its restricted length in the best way possible. Reports say that one of its key features will be unique, removable third-row seats for extended luggage area. Other highlights will include projector headlamps, LED DRLs and touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and maybe even automatic climate control, passive keyless entry and an engine start-stop button. It is expected that the Renault Triber will be much better equipped than the Datsun GO+.

The Renault Triber has been built on a modified version of the Renault Kwid's CMF-A platform. At launch, it will come powered with a more powerful (+7 hp) version of the 68 PS (67.07 hp) 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engine that can be found under the hood of the Kwid and the redi-GO. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. A turbocharged version of the 1.0-litre engine and a 5-speed automated manual transmission will be introduced by mid-2020. A diesel engine option is not planned.
Expect the Renault Triber's prices to fall in the INR 4.5 - 7 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
