Spied - Tata Indigo eCS facelift spotted in Pune

Tata Motors who invented the sub four metre sedan segment with the Tata Indigo eCS is getting ready for the facelift of the car.

Come April 2013, the sub-four metre segment will be getting two new promising entrants namely the Honda Brio Amaze and the compact Mahindra Verito. That would mean there is a choice of four sub-four metre sedans for the buyers to choose from.

The facelift of the Indigo eCS comes at the time when almost every manufacturer is busy in introducing new or refreshed B Segment products. The Indigo eCS despite being the first sub four metre sedan in the world is being trounced by the Swift Dzire which took a leaf from the Tata's idea of a compact sedan.

Tata Motors is hoping to put the Indigo eCS back on the map by giving it a mild facelift. The spy shot you see here was taken by a reader of Indiancarsbikes.in who operates under the name 'Earthfusion'.

The facelifted car will have blackened headlamp units and new fog lights. The grill looks like it's going to have more chrome on it. There appears to be no changes done elsewhere, the side and the rear reportedly looks exactly the same as the current car.

The Indigo eCS is powered by a 1.4 litre CR4 diesel motor that puts out 70 PS/135 Nm or a 1.2 litre MPFI petrol engine which produces 65 PS/100 Nm.
